PASAJ's residency program AIRBayrampaşa hosts artist Ali Kanal between 15-29 March 2021. 

In his artistic practice, Ali Kanal focuses on the unseen and unknown components of the city. As a flâneur, he walks through the city’s abandoned streets, deserted buildings and checks trash to look for found materials to use later in his sculpture productions.

Along with Elif Bursalı from the PASAJ team, Christian Oxenius is also participating in this residency process. He is a German-Italian independent curator, author, and researcher living in Istanbul. His academic background in sociology and urban studies led him to pursue a Ph.D. at the University of Liverpool on biennials as an institutional model, during the course of which he established collaborations with the Athens Biennale, Liverpool biennial, and Istanbul Biennial.
